NEW DELHI: Inflation is creeping up as the festival season gets underway. The headline inflation rate has risen to 4.77% for the week ended September 23. It was 4.56% in the previous week and 4.34% in the corresponding week of the previous year.
Inflation rose to 4.77 per cent for the week ended September 23, up from 4.56 per cent in the previous week. The marginal increase was primarily due to increase in prices of pulses, wheat and iron ore. Pulses was dearer by 4.4 per cent during the week.
